Mairi Carlton

Originally a self taught beader, Mairi has been creating and teaching her own designs for over 14 years.

She organises a large beading group in Glasgow called ‘Beadwildered’, teaches locally on a regular basis and delivers workshops for several Scottish Guilds and shops. Mairi loves Swarovski crystals, particularly vintage samples, and includes them in her work whenever she can.

Karen Gibson-Brown

Karen learnt to bead many years ago with help from some wonderful tutors and beading friends, attending BWG workshops and events whenever possible to expand her knowledge of beadwork.

She has fun creating useful projects from recycled objects, but her love is for stylish and elegant jewellery. Karen can be regularly found demonstrating stitching techniques on behalf of the Guild at bead shows, has taught absolute beginners at WI meetings, local craft groups and more advanced beaders at local bead clubs.

She is also the Newsletter Editor for the Guild and regularly designs patterns for both this and the Journal.
