IBW Year-long Rainbow Project

The Beadworkers Guild invite you to take part in our IBW Year-long Rainbow Challenge.

Anybody can take part, from beginner to advanced, non-designer to professional - it's just a fun to do event via Facebook to keep your beading fingers busy during the year.

How does it work?

Each month from the end of July to mid-July the following year, we encourage beaders from all around the world to bead either a single component or part of a continuous piece, using the twelve colours of the IBW logo, and post a progress picture on our IBW Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/groups/internationalbeadingweek/.  You can choose to let people know what you are making or reveal all at the end of the year, the choice is yours.

At the end of the year we publish all the finished projects on our IBW Year-long Project Gallery to showcase your work and to encourage other beaders to take part the following year.

The Beading Circle

Event: Star Hendy International Project
The Star Hendy Project invites beading communities and individuals from around the world to create and donate handmade beaded star keepsakes - small symbolic gestures of love that grieving families can hold close.

Each star is a token of remembrance, a heartfelt acknowledgment of a life gone too soon. These keepsakes are gifted to families who have experienced pregnancy loss, offering them something tangible to honour their baby’s memory.

This is a very special project which we hope the world wide beading community will support.

Norgard Designs

Event: The Beaded Word Global Project

Norgard Designs have supported International Beading Week for the last six years, covering 6 unique global projects - each offering a series of free lessons and lectures.

This year's lessons lead by Anvi Shah, explain how to make a specific beaded form which you can donate to the project to use in a larger artwork and the lectures lead by Kathryn Shriver, will help expand your beady knowledge.  You can also view an update on past projects here!

We hope you will support us in creating 'The Beaded Word' Project!
