2024 Online Beading Festival Itinerary

A Celebration of the Artist Gustav Klimt - Saturday8th & Saturday 15th June 2024

This year's Beading Festival at Daventry, was a blast, so we are now bringing the fun of the day online for those of you who were unable to join us in person.

Saturday 8th - 'I did it my way' - designing from a Klimt source with Helen McIntyre

Time:  2.00 - 7.00pm (UK time)

Cost:  £45.00

Level:  Suitable for all beaders

The fun starts with a workshop by Helen, to get your creative ideas flowing, with projects created specifically for this event exploring simple design possibilities using Gustav Klimts', ‘Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer 1’, as source material.

Helen will focus on two specific projects designed for this class; a simple flat bracelet looking at choice of stitch, colour and developing a balanced design, and a small three-dimensional octahedron bauble enhanced with raised Peyote, studying scale and structural integrity.  Students will have the opportunity to make modifications to these designs and ‘do it their way’ if they wish.

This workshop is open to all beaders, of all levels and you don't need to be a member of The Beadworkers Guild to attend.  However, places are limited, so to save disappointment book today by visiting:  https://members.beadworkersguild.com/shop/events/index/4

Saturday 15th – Online Bead-in

Time:  AM - 8.00am - 1.00pm or PM - 2.00 - 7.00pm

Cost:  £25.00

Level:  Suitable for all beaders

These super sociable sessions offer our attendees a true party spirit.  We will all bead together on Zoom, working on either Klimt inspired designs of your own or from a booklet that we will provide.

If you are a confident beader, why not check out Klimt's artwork and other objects that he designed ahead of the fun, so that you are fully inspired and ready to go on the day. Let your imagination roam free as you explore Klimt's love of geometric shapes, as well his remarkable use of interesting colour combinations, from harmonious to the very contrasting and in some cases, you may think clashing colours, to design your own works of art. Many a project for The Journal, has come from our day of beady exploration!

If designing isn't your thing and you prefer to work from patterns, we have designed a fab booklet with seven projects for you to try. There are also basic instructions for the stitches which we think you will find the most useful.

Most of the designs use the basic staples of your bead stash, but you will receive a list of what will be required ahead of the event to be fully prepared on the day.  You will then receive the log in reference and booklet via email the day before the event.

This online event is suitable for all levels of beader and is open to non-members of The Beadworkers Guild, so why not invite a friend to join in the the fun!
